Трафальгарская плошча ў Лондан

Трафальгарская плошча (англ.: Trafalgar Square) — плошча ў цэнтры Лондана, дзе, на месцы Чарынгскага крыжа, сыходзяцца тры галоўныя вуліцы Вэстмінстэра — Стрэнд, Уайтхол і Мэл. Першапачаткова насіла назву Плошча караля Вільгельма IV, але канчатковую назву атрымала ў гонар перамогі Вялікабрытаніі пры Трафальгары ў 1805 г.

Архітэктура

У цэнтры плошчы — калона Нельсана з цёмна-шэрага граніту вышынёй 44 м, увянчаная статуяй адмірала Нельсана. Чатыры бакі калоны ўпрыгожаны фрэскамі, вырабленымі з захопленых і пераплаўленых напалеонаўскіх гармат. Яна збудавана ў 1840—1843 гг., акружана скульптурамі львоў і фантанамі. Па вуглах плошчы — чатыры скульптуры.

A beautiful setting in the heart of London. Check out the National Gallery art museum and Nelson's Column, a monument to Admiral Horatio Nelson. Watch out for all the pigeons!

Oxford street as starting point and go on to Regent street until you reach Trafalgar Square enjoy it's sights and sounds then go on your way to London eye.. Perfect walk!!

One of London’s landmarks, and where the National Portrait Gallery is. Usually, there is some event or happening. Very central location, and next to many other sights like Piccadilly Circus.

Great photo opportunities to catch Big Ben in the distance with Nelson's Column in the forefront. Or take one with one of the bronze lions. Just a great square with plenty to see all around.
